Waffles are delicious. They have warm maple syrup and sometimes fresh fruit adorns the scrumptious, crispy outside. My point, you ask?
Waffles and raffles have a lot in common. They are spelled the same except for the first letter, for one. (I know, that's silly) But seriously, the greatest thing they have in common is that they are both wonderful. Waffles are yummy and raffles are fun because you can win something. Who doesn't love to win something?
So that's how we got the name for our online raffle. It witty, fun and it's yummy. We like to have fun here and provide you with a fair and interesting raffle. And by interesting we mean unique because usually the raffles you see online make you gain an insane amount of points from actions taken on your part, and even when you do earn those points, you have to wait forever to see if you've won in a few months or maybe even a year from now.
Here, we draw a winner for each prize drawing one week from when it is posted on this blog. For example, if we introduced a new prize 3 days ago in a blog entry, the drawing would be held March 4, 2010 no later than 5 p.m. central time. Since we are brand new, the first prize or two might be up for grabs for longer than a week. But, those kinks will get worked out soon enough.
We have some ideas for prizes up our sleeves and we even have some items waiting in our safe, warm closet to be won by you. But, we are always looking for more ideas on what prizes you would like to win from us! Look at it this way, the more participants The Waffle Raffle gets, the better we do. And the better we do, the better your prizes will be! Email some ideas for prizes to us: thewaffleraffle@yahoo.com. We will also periodically have polls on ideas we've received from you for potential prizes and will furnish our future prize "vault" with such things.
Proceeding to the raffle ticket portion...we should have mentioned this before because it could quite possibly be the most awesome thing ever (besides tetherball or flameless candles), but here at The Waffle Raffle, every single raffle ticket will never be over $1.00! We like to keep people on their toes, so one raffle may be 25 cents, another could be 72 cents...why not? And hey-that's a steal! Remember that you must be living in the United States and be at least 18 years old. And you can purchase as many raffle tickets as you want-just multiply the specific price of a prize times the amount of tickets you would like...mini math lesson for ya!
It may seem odd that we would want to sell a raffle ticket so inexpensively, but then again, we are odd...in our creativity and thought processes any way. And we stop at $1.00 not because we are superstitious. Except we wouldn't dare stepping on a crack on the sidewalk. Or walking under a ladder. Or breaking a mirror.......you get it, I'm sure. But we do love black cats!
Ok time to be serious. Once we have a prize you would like to win posted, let's say a new DVD...then you will send the price of the prize in USD of course to our designated Revolution MoneyExchange address which is thewaffleraffle@yahoo.com .
Most people haven't heard of Revolution MoneyExchange. That's such a shame, though, since they don't charge any fees to send or receive money-like PayPal does...BOOOO. That's why we decided not to use PayPal, unfortunately.

So, in order to purchase your raffle tickets from us, you must first of all be 18 years or older and live in the U.S like we said before, of course and you will need to create a Revolution MoneyExchange account by clicking on the banner below.
When you want to purchase a raffle ticket or tickets (after you sign up for a new account and add a funding source), these are the steps you will need to take:

Moving on. You are probably wondering how we draw the winner. Rest assured, we don't throw a dart at the wall with your name on it. And we don't let a trained monkey pick a name out of a hat-although that would be pretty hilarious. We actually take advantage of random.org. According to them, they "offer true random numbers to anyone on the Internet." We love random!

So, when you enter the drawing, you will be assigned a number which is the order in which you joined the raffle. For example: if you are the first person to purchase a raffle ticket, then your number will be #1...and so on. If you purchase more than one raffle ticket, your entries will be in consecutive order. So, if you were the first person to purchase raffle tickets, and chose 3 tickets, then your entry numbers will be #1, #2 and #3. Just wanted to clear that up.
